North East of Papua New Guinea on the edge of Nusa Harbour i the Bismarck Achipelago lies New Ireland.  Here, in one of the world's most beautiful resort settings, you will find Malagan Beach Resort.  Located just 1km from Kavieng, the capital of the Province.

Sightseeing in New Ireland

 

Refine yourself by diving, fishing, cruising, bushwlking.  Swim in the crystal clear waters of clear mountain streams. glide over ancient coral gardens, take scuba lessons, sail a catamaran, fish the surrounding reefs, surf on nearby reefs or just stroll through the markets and local villages. witness spectacular Malagan sing sings and see beautiful tradtional artwork, carvings and handicraft.

 

 

Diving in New Ireland

 

Niugini Diving Adventures can arrange for SUBA diving excursions and instruction from fully qualified PADI dive masters and instructors.  Dive wrecks, reefs and explorer the underwater wonderland that Kavieng and New Ireland Offer.  For non divers, snorkelling excursions can be arranged to some of the many beautiful Islands in Nusa Harbour and Tsoi Island in New Hanover. Meet in Kavieng

 

The Malagan Beach resort offers the New Hanover Conference room which is full air conditioned and can cater for small conferences and functions up to 50

persons.

 

The PNG Fishery College located 5km from the Malagan Beach Resort have a conference auditorium that can be hired for larger conferences.

 

 

 

Dining at Malagan

 

The dining room provides seating for up to 26 guests, whilst the beach patio provides a perfect spot to catch the breeze across the water of Nusa Harbour.  The menu features some of the maginficent seafood available including gaint crabs including Coconut Crabs, crayfish, fresh fish, local oysters as well as octopus.  Other menu items include poultry, fish, pork and vegetarian meals.

 

On Sunday evenings a traditional BBQ is available for guests and residents featuring crayfish, fresh fish, chicken and steak.

 

MALAGAN GIFT SHOP

 

A gift shop is located near the entrance gate of the resort, many artifacts, carvings, handicaft, shells, T shirts, sarongs as well as toiletry items.  The shop is opened daily or upon request.

 

RENTAL CARS

 

Hertz renta  cars are based at the Malagan Beach Resort and have 4x4 vehicles available for hire.  The Buliminsky Highway is sealed from Kavieng to Namatanai and there are many interesting side roads to various places of interest on New Ireland.
